國會調查賓夕法尼亞大學拜登中心收受中共贈款

1月27日，國會「監督及改革」、「司法」、「教育及勞工」三個委員會聯合向賓夕法尼亞大學校長艾米•葛特曼博士（Amy Gutmann）發出第二封信，敦促她在2月11日之前向國會提供以下材料：
2013年1月至今，以任何形式收到來自中國政府、中共、其代理機構或個人、中國人、中國公司的金錢、禮物、合同等。
2013年1月至今，賓大及其現任、前任僱員及代理，與上述1所牽涉的人、機構、組織，相互之間及內部的所有信息傳遞、文件紀錄、通訊往來，託管人包括但不限於：
喬•拜登，前賓大本傑明•富蘭克林總統級實踐教授
安東尼•布林肯，前賓大「拜登外交與全球參與中心」理事長（拜登提名的國務卿）
Ezekiel Emanuel，賓大全球倡議副校長
Michael Carpenter，賓大「拜登外交與全球參與中心」理事長
Amy Gutmann，賓大校長
信中指出，在2017年2月1日賓大宣布成立「拜登外交與全球參與中心」前，賓大在37個月內收到來自中國的2118萬7千元，在「拜登中心」成立後的39個月內則收到來自中國的7227萬4千元，淨增長5108萬7千（幾乎是之前的3.5倍）。
信中明確指出，「中國共產黨CCP就是利用在高校的戰略投資，將美國高等學府變成中共向美國學生灌輸的平台。事實上前中共宣傳部長劉雲山曾說過，中共在美國教育界擴散影響力，是其協調海外和國內宣傳為中國創造更有利的國際環境計劃的一部分。」
去年12月，拜登-哈里斯過度團隊承認，國會正在調查拜登兒子亨特。拜登與中國的生意往來等財物和稅務問題，拜登家族與中國的關係引發國會對於國家安全及情資工作等的擔憂。國會需要通過調查賓大的拜登中心與中國的關係，來進一步理解美國的敵對國家利用拜登家族實施影響力的廣度和深度。
去年8月3日，國會就給賓大發出第一封信，要求大學配合調查，但賓大至今沒有做出回應。

What happened?The Committee on Oversight and Reform, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on Education and Labor of the U.S. House of Representative collectively issued a second letter to the President of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Amy Gutmann, requesting her to submit documents and communications about her university and the Biden Centre’s ties with the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). What matters?This is the second letter the three congressional committee has issued to the U of Penn. Back to August, 2020, the committees had issued the first letter to Dr. Gutmann. Yet the university president didn’t respond to the legislature’s request. The two letters have shown that the U.S. congress had launched an investigation into the Biden family’s ties with the CCP several months before the 2020 Election, and it is carrying on the task after Biden taking the White House. BackgroundShortly before the 2020 U.S. Election, New York Post broke the story of Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal, in which Hunter Biden was found to have drug and sex problems as well as the Biden family’s secretive businesses with Ukraine and China. However, almost all mainstream media, together with the big social media, concertedly kept silence on this breaking news, until after the election, when Hunter Biden himself admitted that the congress is investigating his tax and foreign businesses. |
